Our School

Pennington: Friendly, Welcoming and Enriching

Pennington Elementary is a small, neighborhood school with a welcoming, friendly and family-like atmosphere. Our mission is to provide a learning environment where students can become well-rounded citizens by encouraging excellence in academics, attitude and attendance.

One of our educational support programs allows students to receive specific instruction in math and English language arts four times a week. Our daily, 60-minute related arts period rotates between art, music and physical education. Our library is filled with materials that support our school's curriculum plus many well-loved, age-appropriate books spanning different interests and genres.

Our annual Book Fair is one of our favorite times of year and brings a lot of excitement to our school community. Students and staff gather to show their enthusiasm for books, stories and our library. Dress-up days go along with the book fair theme while a family-and-friends day invites others to shop and participate. Our Family/Community night includes dinner together followed by exploring the book fair.

All sorts of other activities are available to children both during and after school. Some favorites include music club, Good News Club (hosted by The Donelson Fellowship), Morning Mile, field day, Fall Fest and end-of-year picnics. Our 4th graders have the exciting opportunity to help with WPEN, our morning announcement show. Each morning, our goal is to make the day count by making it a "positively perfect Pennington pride day!"
