Students
Information for Pennington Students
Pennington students are not required to wear Standard School Attire (SSA) but are required to comply with the dress code below.
Dress Code
- Students may wear crewnecks or collared shirts. No V-neck shirts allowed.
- Midriff area, shoulders and back must be covered.
- Students may wear botttoms (jeans, slacks, sweatpants, etc.), but they must be worn at the waist.
- Leggings and bike shorts are only allowed when worn under shorts, skirts or dresses, not on their own as pants.
- Skirts, dresses or shorts must be fingertip length or longer.
- Pennington spirit wear may be worn on any day of the week.
- Clothes must free from rips, tears or holes. Frayed hems are not allowed.
- Clothing must be free of inappropriate logos, slogans or pictures.
- All undergarments must be hidden from view.
- No see-through clothing materials for tops or bottoms.
- Hoods and hats must be off while in the building.
- Footwear must be always worn. Laces must be tied.
- Students must wear sneakers on PE days.
School Supplies
Metro Nashville Public Schools will provide all Kindergarten and first grade students with supplies free of charge for the 2026-27 school year. Students will still need to bring backpacks.
